When I was working in a fast food restaurant, my typical day at work consisted of various activities that were fun yet challenging. For instance, I would come in the morning and get started on making salad. Then,I would take my position either behind the counter taking in customer orders or in the kitchen preparing the orders. Irrespective of where I was assigned to work on the day, I made sure that I was polite, attentive, fast worker and presentable at all times. Working in this fast spaced environment, I learnt various skills, such as multi-tasking, coordinating various tasks at the same time; good customer service, keeping the eye level whilst communicating with the customers. Most of all, I learnt to work either independently or part of the team to create a good atmosphere for the clients as well as to the rest of the team. The hardest part of the job was to work under pressure at all times, but this only made me to be more efficient whilst carrying out my tasks. The most enjoyable part of the job was meeting different people from various cultural backgound every day.
Ravintolapäälliköt vaihtuivat koko ajan. Palkkaus on surkea varsinkin suhteutettuna työn määrään. Kaikesta yritetään säästää ja jatkuvasti tehdään töitä alimiehityksellä. Työ on yllättävän raskasta ja ala ei saa minkäänlaista arvostusta.
