About your role

Join us at Orion to lead Technical Operations function. The Technical Operations key responsibility areas are in technical maintenance, equipment validation, technical automation and execution of capital investment projects. In this role you are ensuring the continuous development of personnel´s key competencies, setting ambitious goals in technical operations area and creating action plans to achieve these goals. You work closely with Orion's production, quality management and facility management functions. As Director, Technical Operations you are part of Orion's Global Operations management team.

Location: Espoo or Turku

Your key responsibilities

  • Lead Technical Operations and the technical management team to achieve set goals.
  • Ensure the development in the key area activities such as machine maintenance processes, equipment procurement processes and digitalization.
  • Lead daily operations and ensure that efficiency targets are met.
  • Collaborate closely with the Global Operations management team.
  • Participate in the strategic planning and goal setting of Orion's Global Operations.

You will report to EVP, Global Operations.

Unit description

Orion's Global Operations covers the entire pharmaceutical manufacturing process, from sourcing of raw materials to the manufacture of products, packaging and delivery to customers. We are also responsible for the industrialization of new products and product life cycle management.

In Global Operations we have approximately 1,600 professionals working in Production, our external supplier network (Externally Sourced Operations) and Fermion Oy (API manufacturing and marketing). In addition, the organization includes Supply Chain & Procurement, Technical Operations, Facility Management, EHS (Environment, Health and Safety), CPD&LCM (Commercial Product Development & Product lifecycle management) and Operations Development.

Technical Operations is responsible for the production technology of operational activities and the technology of laboratories in Espoo, Turku, Salo, Kuopio, Hanko and Oulu. Technical operations ensure that equipment and systems meet the set quality, safety, and capacity requirements. It is essential that the technical availability of production and laboratory equipment is on a high level and the set delivery reliability targets are achieved. Continuous improvement of technical operations is central to ensure good development in efficiency and application of new technologies. The organization includes approximately 200 technical professionals.
