Postdoctoral Researcher in autophagy and metabolic homeostasis

We are looking for a highly motivated researcher who meets the following criteria:
- PhD in cell biology, biochemistry, molecular biology, or a related field, with a strong academic track record and at least one recent first-author publication in an internationally recognized peer-reviewed journal.
- Strong background in cell biology. Extensive expertise in mammalian cell culture is essential.
- Strong skills and deep familiarity with molecular biology techniques (including vector design, genome targeting, PCR), and functional cell biology assays relevant to homeostasis and metabolism.
- Expertise in fluorescence-based microscopy and image analysis is highly desirable.
- A collegial and adaptive team player with a high degree of professional maturity, capable of both independent planning and collaborative teamwork.
- Excellent communication skills in the English language, with a capacity to present research findings clearly and coherently.
The chosen applicant is expected to reside in Finland while employed by the University of Helsinki.
- Driving project implementation and development in a collaborative research setting.
- Conducting functional cell biology and biochemical studies in mammalian cells to investigate novel metabolic and homeostatic pathways.
- Weekly one-on-one meetings with the PI, presenting weekly updates within the team.
- Discussing scientific work at internal meetings, with collaborators and at conferences.
The position is initially available for 18 months. Trial period of six months will be applied. The monthly gross starting salary will be appr. 3700-4000 e/per month depending on the appointee’s qualifications and experience.
