Job title: Project Lead – Data Centre Construction
Location: Finland. 3 week rotation
Company: Data Centre Main Contractor delivering hyperscale projects across Europe
Package: €140,000 to €150,000 + very strong European package

The Role: Project Lead

This Project Lead position is based on a major data centre development in Finland, overseeing the successful delivery of a large-scale mission critical project from construction through to handover.

Reporting directly to the Project Director, the Project Lead will take full responsibility for programme delivery, commercial performance, subcontractor management, client coordination, and overall project execution. This role requires a strong construction leader with extensive experience managing complex projects, driving programme milestones, and ensuring delivery within budget while maintaining the highest standards of safety and quality.

The successful Project Lead will work closely with commercial teams, design managers, subcontractors, consultants, and client representatives throughout the project lifecycle.

Must Have Requirements

• Must have 10+ years' experience in a Project Lead, Project Manager, Senior Project Manager or similar construction leadership role
• Proven experience required delivering large-scale construction projects from inception through to handover
• Strong commercial and financial management experience is essential
• Experience managing subcontractors, consultants, and multidisciplinary construction teams
• Data centre, pharmaceutical, industrial, mission critical, or major infrastructure project experience required

Preferred Experience

• Previous data centre construction experience preferred
• Experience working on design and build contracts beneficial
• Strong knowledge of construction procurement and long-lead equipment management
• Experience working on European construction projects advantageous
• Familiarity with project controls and scheduling software preferred

Nice to Have

• Construction Management, Engineering, or related degree qualification
• Professional membership with CIOB, PMI, or equivalent
• Experience managing international project teams
• Additional leadership or project management certifications

Key Responsibilities

• Lead overall project delivery, ensuring programme, budget, safety, and quality objectives are achieved
• Manage project costs, forecasting, reporting, and commercial performance throughout delivery
• Coordinate subcontractors, suppliers, consultants, and internal project teams
• Drive critical path activities and proactively manage programme risks
• Chair client meetings and project coordination meetings
• Review construction proposals, tender returns, and subcontractor packages
• Oversee procurement strategies and monitor long-lead equipment schedules
• Support design development and value engineering initiatives
• Review and approve payment applications, invoices, and retention releases
• Monitor project controls and scheduling activities to maintain programme certainty
• Manage project close-out, commissioning support, and final handover documentation
• Maintain the highest standards of health, safety, and quality across all project activities

About You

You are an experienced Project Lead or Senior Project Manager with a strong background delivering complex construction projects for a main contractor.

You have excellent leadership skills and can manage multiple stakeholders while maintaining focus on programme delivery, cost control, and quality standards. You are commercially aware, highly organised, and capable of making critical project decisions in a fast-moving construction environment.

You thrive in large-scale project settings where technical complexity, programme management, and stakeholder coordination are central to success.
